Medjugorje to Zagreb

Travel by Car: The driving distance between Medjugorje and Zagreb following the fastest route is about 510 km, estimated travel time about 5 hours, this route goes mainly via the Croatian highway where toll fees apply. As an alternative it is possible to choose the tool free route via Banja Luka, this route is shorter but have longer travel time do to road conditions.

Travel by Bus: There are a several daily direct buses from Medjugorje to Zagreb, timetable are listed below. If the direct buses are not suitable we recommend travelling via Split.

  1. Try to search for a bus to the nearest larger city e.g. Rijeka, Zagreb, Zadar or Split and then find a bus from there to your final destination
  2. If this does not give you any options matching your requirements from a time perspective, you should consider using other means of transportation, renting a car would probably be the best option.
  3. If you are travelling to or from an airport in Croatia, you will have to travel to the nearest larger city and then change bus there to reach your final destination.
  4. If you are travelling to one of the larger tourist attractions like e.g. national park Plitvice lakes, you have the option to join an organized bus excursion, more about that here

Alternative ways of travelling from Medjugorje to Zagreb

Travel by train: The closest train station is in Capljina (15 km from Medjugorje), from there is train to Sarajevo, which has an international train to Zagreb. More information about trains in Bosnia you can find here.

Travel by plane: On the route Medjugorje (Mostar) to Zagreb there is no direct flight.
